Our utility crews handle the tough infrastructure. Sewer, storm, and water installs done right the first time, tied directly into the grading and roadway work happening around them.
From aerial sewer over wetlands to deep underground detention systems, we bring the experience to manage the complications that stop other crews cold, including blasting, rock, and pump station installs.
We have built strong relationships with municipalities and inspectors across the Triangle and Eastern North Carolina. Our crews coordinate seamlessly in the field to keep utility work moving safely, efficiently, and on schedule.
What our utility crews install
Wet utilities are a core, self-performed part of the Marks scope, not a line item we hand off. Here is what our crews put in the ground.
Sanitary Sewer
Gravity mains, laterals, manholes, and offsite tie-ins, installed to municipal spec and inspected as we go.
Storm Drainage
RCP and HDPE storm systems, precast structures, outlet protection, and the pipe network that makes the grading plan work.
Water Distribution
Water mains, valves, hydrants, and services, pressure tested and disinfected for a clean handoff to the utility.
Force Main
Onsite and offsite force main runs, including long road crossings and the coordination that comes with them.
Pump Stations
Wet wells, valve vaults, and pump station installs handled in house, with the deep excavation they require.
Detention Systems
Deep underground detention and SCM structures built to hold stormwater long after the site is turned over.
Built for the hard ones
Most utility scopes look simple on paper. The ones that are not are the reason contractors call us.
Rock and blasting
When the trench hits rock, the job usually stops. Ours does not. We plan for rock in preconstruction, coordinate blasting, and keep the pipe moving so the rest of the site is not waiting on one line.
Aerial sewer and wetland crossings
Aerial sewer over wetlands, stream crossings, and sensitive buffers all come with their own permits, access problems, and inspection schedule. We have run them enough to know where the delays hide.
Deep cuts and detention
Deep sewer, underground detention, and pump stations demand real shoring, real dewatering, and crews who work safely at depth every day. That is normal work for our utility division.
