Gregg Marks has stepped into a new role at Marks Clearing & Grading as Executive Chairman and Chief Growth Officer.
The move was featured in the Triangle Business Journal’s Career Update section, and it puts Gregg squarely on the work he does best. It’s the kind of role that builds on the ground he covered in his earlier Triangle Business Journal Executive Insights feature.
“Getting back to what I love, which is growth, culture, strategy, and acquisitions,” Gregg said of the change. “Big things happening at Marks.”
For a company that’s grown from one Bobcat and a vision into one of North Carolina’s fastest-growing turnkey sitework contractors, that focus matters. Growth like this doesn’t sustain itself. It takes deliberate work on strategy, on the partnerships and acquisitions that expand what we can take on, and above all on culture.
Culture is the part that’s easiest to lose while growing quickly, and it’s the part Marks refuses to trade away. Faith, Family, Dirt isn’t a tagline on a truck door. It’s how we hire, how we lead, and how we make decisions when the decision is hard.
Having Gregg dedicated to growth and culture together, rather than one at the expense of the other, is exactly the right structure for where this company is headed.
Congratulations, Gregg. We’re excited for this next chapter.
