Underground work shapes what happens above it. Our utility teams work with the broader Marks operation to plan access, sequence installation and keep the next phase in view.
Wet utilities are a core, self-performed part of the Marks scope, not a line item we hand off. We have built strong relationships with municipalities and inspectors across Greater Raleigh-Durham and throughout the Carolinas, and our crews coordinate in the field to keep utility work moving safely and efficiently.

Deep excavations, difficult crossings and changing ground conditions require planning and field coordination. We bring utility experience into those decisions early, before the first pipe goes in.

Rock & blasting
We plan for rock in preconstruction and coordinate blasting when it is required, so one line does not hold up the rest of the site.
Deep excavation
Deep sewer, wet wells and pump stations call for shoring, dewatering and crews who work safely at depth.
Aerial sewer & wetland crossings
Aerial sewer over wetlands, stream crossings and sensitive buffers each come with their own permits, access limits and inspection schedule. We plan for them from the start.
Magnolia Forest
A 57-acre KB Home development delivering 154 homes, with mass grading, roadway widening and one of the largest utility scopes we have run on a single residential site. Storm, sewer, water and an offsite force main were installed alongside our own grading crews so no phase sat waiting on another.

Does Marks install both storm and sanitary sewer?
Yes. Our crews install RCP and HDPE storm systems and precast structures, as well as gravity sewer mains, laterals, manholes and offsite tie-ins.
Can Marks handle rock, deep excavations and difficult crossings?
Yes. We plan for rock during preconstruction, coordinate blasting when it is required, and bring shoring and dewatering experience to deep sewer, detention and pump station work.
