We’re proud to welcome John Dodd to the Marks team as our new Vice President of Commercial Operations.

John brings more than 30 years of civil construction experience to Marks, having led over $500 million in projects across more than 10 sectors, including federal and military facilities, aviation, pharmaceutical campuses, higher education, retail, commercial, and residential developments.

But what drew John to Marks wasn’t a project list. It was our culture: Faith, Family, and Dirt.

Before joining the team, John had been praying for the right opportunity. When Gregg shared those three words, he felt like it was a clear sign this was where he was meant to be.

“A lot of companies talk about their values,” John said. “Marks lives them out every day.”

That standard shows up in the way John works. Do what you say you’re going to do. Do good work. Do safe work. Be productive. As he puts it: “Your reputation is everything in this business, and in life.”

It’s a perspective shaped in the field. John started on the ground and worked his way up, and he carries that experience into how he leads. “I try to put myself in other people’s shoes,” he said. “Having worked in the field, I respect every role in the company and listen when concerns are brought to me.” His advice to the next generation is just as direct: “Learn as much as you can in every phase of your career.”
