Our crews have been on the ground at Avalon since the first tree came down. Looking across this Durham community today, part of the Triangle, it’s pretty remarkable to see how far it’s come.
Finished homes on one end. Crews moving dirt, installing utilities, and building roads on the other.
That’s what progress looks like at Avalon, and it’s a good illustration of what a long-run turnkey sitework partnership actually involves. A community like this isn’t one project. It’s years of work in phases, where the crew clearing raw ground in one section is working a few hundred yards from families who’ve already moved in.
That changes how we work. Haul routes have to account for residents. Dust, noise, and traffic control matter in a way they don’t on a greenfield site with no neighbors yet. Utility tie-ins have to happen without interrupting service to homes that are already occupied. The standard for a clean, well-run jobsite goes up, not down, as a community fills in.
Staying on a site from the first tree to the last lot is also how we earn the next phase. Every phase carries forward what our crews already know about the soils, the drainage, the inspectors, and the builder’s expectations. That institutional knowledge is worth real schedule time, and it’s not something we could bring to a site we’d just mobilized to.
Proud of the Marks men and women who keep this job moving, and grateful to Meritage Homes for continuing to trust us with what comes next.
