As Hispanic Heritage Month begins, we’re proud to celebrate one of our own: Luis Sarria, C-MESH, our Director of Safety.
Luis brings more than ten years in construction and safety to the role, and a career that started in the field. That matters. He’s stood where our crews stand. When he talks about a hazard, a procedure, or a shortcut that isn’t worth taking, he isn’t reading it off a page.
For Luis, a strong safety culture comes down to four things: accountability, communication, consistency, and looking out for each other.
None of those are paperwork. They’re habits, and habits only hold when they’re practiced the same way on the easy days as on the hard ones. That’s the work Luis is doing across our jobsites in the Triangle, from crew conversations at the start of a shift to stand-downs that pull entire pipe crews together to slow down and review what’s in front of them.
Since joining Marks, Luis has been on the ground with our teams, working alongside superintendents, foremen, and operators to strengthen the safety culture that drives everything we do.
At the end of the day, there’s one goal: everyone goes home safe.
That’s the standard. Not a target, not an aspiration. The standard.
We’re proud to have Luis leading safety at Marks, and grateful for what he brings to Team Marks every day.
